Following a rigorous qualification based selection process and the requirements of Government Code Section 4217, the School Board for Black Oak Mine Unified Schools authorized a contract with Aircon Energy to act as the district’s Energy Services Company for the purpose of conducting an Investment Grade Audit of the district’s facilities as part of their Proposition 39 Comprehensive Energy efforts and upgrade equipment via the identified energy efficiency measures. All work was performed in compliance with Title 24 and DSA regulations. The project comprised 10 different facilities in the district including 2 high schools, a middle school, several elementary schools, the maintenance facility and district administrative office. Based upon Aircon Energy’s thorough facility-wide energy audit, the scope of the equipment and electrical upgrades included updating interior and exterior lighting and replacing inefficient wall mounted and rooftop heating/cooling units including controls. The project was delivered with a turnkey fixed price design/build approach. The new products are not only more energy efficient, reducing energy costs by more than $35,000 annually, but will provide the district with substantial annual maintenance savings. |
